Alzheimer’s Long Term Care Staff Specializes In Personalized Care
Alzheimer’s long-term care, at its core, involves basic support and assistance in a resident’s daily activities. The types of help required depends on each individual and how far the disease has progressed. Common responsibilities for caregivers are assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing and eating.
Of special importance, caregiver duties at Clover Care Home in Kansas City are further enhanced by fostering an emotional and spiritual connection with each resident under their care. Additionally, Alzheimer’s long-term care involves managing and organizing the resident’s agenda – their routine daily activities, such as scheduling appointments and managing hygiene tasks.
Some of the best traits Alzheimer’s long-term care givers can have are:
- Patience
- Compassion
- Attentiveness
- Dependability
- Trustworthiness
At Clover Care Home in Kansas City, our caring staff is unsurpassed in the quality of Alzheimer’s long-term care they provide.
In the spotlight today are two dedicated individuals, Melanie Klover and Laura Garrison.
Melanie Klover is the owner of Clover Care Home. She, her husband and two children live in Shawnee, Kansas. Previously residing in Spokane, Washington, the family returned to the Kansas City area to be near their family. They built Clover Care Home for their own family. Melanie, a strong believer in the value of family commitment, wanted to provide a safe, quality, family living environment for aging adults.
Melanie’s career as an Occupational Therapist has provided experience in senior care, skilled nursing and home health. Melanie has gained extensive knowledge of the principals of aging in place, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, and understands the benefits of a therapeutic environment for Alzheimer’s long-term care. Her focus is on providing specialized, holistic care for people, attending to their physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual needs. This care enables residents to function at their highest level of independence.
Laura Garrison is married and the mother of five children. Cooking has always been her passion, and from ownership of a catering company and working in a bakery, to her extensive experience cooking for her family, Laura is committed to providing comforting, home-cooked meals for residents of Clover Care Home.
Laura is responsible for menu planning, preparation of nutritious meals, and cooking personalized meals our residents thoroughly enjoy. Breakfasts are made to order every day. Laura assists in publishing a home cooking & healthy eating menu each month. Residents contribute their favorite choices for recipes. In addition, Laura oversees a weekly cooking club for residents at Clover Care Home.
Additionally, Laura plans fabulous cooking activities for everyone to participate in and enjoy while creating delicious foods, such as homemade pretzels, apple crumb cake, zucchini fries, and mini personalized lasagnas. Needless to say, Laura’s contributions to Alzheimer’s long-term care at our facility is highly valued.
